The paid roles available include shadowing the art department, shadowing Baby Queen’s stylist, or shadowing the director, Samuel. To be in with a chance, submit your portfolio, work, writing, or anything that marks you out as the right person for the job to [email protected].

The Stylist Assistant will have the opportunity to work alongside the main stylist to shadow them and learn more about their creative process. From preparation in the days before shooting, to being on set with the rest of the crew. You will be involved with the preparation, creative process, assist with fittings, offer on-set styling support and help wrap up the set.
The Director Assistant will revise the creative before heading on to set, be offered insight into the process of pre-production, setting up on the day, and observing scenes play out and taking notes with the director.
The Art Director Assistant will be involved with the preparation of the creative process, assist with fittings, help to maintain visual consistency, offer on-set support, and help to wrap-up.
Baby Queen shared what the opportunity to share her world with emerging creatives meant. “I’ve always wanted to create a music video with my Kingdom, and I’m so excited to be working with Converse to make that dream a reality. My journey into the music industry was tough, so I’m hyped to be able to give my fans a step into this world through being my creative collaborators. Let’s see what we can create next together.”
This isn’t the first time Converse has partnered with a culture-dominating figure to help open the doors of the music industry. Previous Converse Next projects have included a John Boyega-led grassroots mentorship programme for young black filmmakers and a community-based project led by Tyler, The Creator. The rapper teamed up with fellow creatives to help craft an innovative campaign for the Chuck 70, celebrating the shoe’s legacy in a campaign that targeted zeitgeist-leading creators. Most recently, Converse tapped UK-based graffiti artist Navinder Nangla, who designed a capsule collection of tees in his signature deliberately misspelt doodle style.

Now, Baby Queen, who is known for a bold take on “anti-pop” music, will invite fans into her world and create something bigger with the help of the next generation of creators. Along with the opportunity to work on set and on video submissions, the interactive fun doesn’t stop there. Fans will be invited to vote on various creative elements through Baby Queen’s Instagram polls, giving users the chance to contribute to decisions such as hair, styling and the choice of Converse shoes she should wear.
To apply, submit either a visual or a written application. For a visual application, submit a portfolio of your work, or if you do not have a portfolio, send over a visual mood board for the role you are applying for. When sending a written application, Submit a written response of no more than 100 words on who you are, your background, interests, hobbies and why you would like to shadow one of the creatives on set.
